Mark, it's comforting to hear that my lifelong incessant habit of creating a "puzzle playbook" of where what is and how everything fits together is smart. Yes, it is time consuming writing it, but it has proven effective when handing over responsibilities.
Phew! It took forever to write that paragraph that made sense. Doing less is more fun than doing more.
I'm reminded of our Pre-Employment Manual we developed over time for our real estate brokerage that was a US government contractor. The SOPs were crazy!
Thank you for mentioning the Second Brain guy. At this point on my life, I'm focused on simplifying.
Thank you for your comment Donna! It's the act of putting onto paper that highlights how overblown some corporate SOPs can get. Writing, as in longhand on paper, is a really good filter for me.
Tiago has some useful and original ideas about organising data into information, his book explains it all but there's plenty of detail on his website too.
Pen to paper can prime creativity and tap into who we are. It's sad that cursive wtiting was dropped from schools as keyboarding became more important in curriculums.
For me, longhand writing is as much therapy as talking
That sounds just like my favourite fountain pen! It's a 'Sailor' from Japan. The gold nibs are works of art. You need reasonably good paper, too. Not the rubbish from Officeworks or Moleskine.

Couldn't agree more Donna. Let me take one step further - cursive writing with a fountain pen. It doesn't get better than that.
I recall holding a fountain pen long, long ago, but the time needed for the ink to dry was my challenge. 😅
Today, I seek a pen that flows when I write. That glides. That fits my fingers and feels like a long lost friend come back home 🤗

Hmm... Over to Amazon I went, and pretty much what I expected, over 130 US, but I found ones with Sailor name under 20.
While creating courses, I've been going pen to paper to map them out.
Which Sailor do you suggest?
